New Jersey Democratic Sen. Cory Booker isn’t joining the other Democrats who are calling for Jared Kushner’s security credentials to be revoked among reports that Kushner had talked about opening back channels of communication with Russians.
During an interview with CNN Sunday, Booker said that he wanted to know more before taking away Kushner’s security clearance: “I think we need to first get to the bottom of it. He needs to answer for what was happening at the time. It raises very serious concerns for me. And that could be a potential outcome that I seek, but I want to understand, at least hear from Jared Kushner, as well as the administration, about what was exactly going on there.”

What’s more, Booker has not joined the many other voices calling for Trump to be impeached, saying, “I’m not going to rush to impeachment.”
It’s worth noting that Kushner and Kushner Cos. donated $41,000 to Booker’s 2013 campaign, according to PoliticalMoneyLine.com, and Politico reported that Ivanka Trump held a fundraiser for Booker as well. Prior to that, Kushner had donated $20,000 to Booker’s Newark mayoral ticket “Booker Team for Newark,” according to New Jersey campaign finance records.
