Former Green Bay Packers RB Ahman Green Arrested for Child Abuse

Former Green Bay Packers running back Ahman Green may be facing a lengthy jail sentence if he is convicted of his latest charge.

On Wednesday, the 4-time Pro Bowl running back was arrested in Wisconsin and charged with child abuse-intentionally cause harm/cruelty toward child, TMZ Sports reports.

“We had contact with Mr. Green on Sunday June 25th at 11:30 p.m. He was arrested for physical abuse of a child in a family related incident,” The sheriff’s Dept. told TMZ Sports. “The referral has been made to the Brown County District Attorney’s Office and any additional requests will need to be made to them as we cannot comment on pending cases.”

Green, 40, is being held without bond until he appears in front of a judge. If convicted he could face up to six years in prison. Green was the featured running back for the Packers from 2000-06. He returned to the team in 2009, which was also his final season in the NFL. Green would also play for the Seattle Seahawks and the Houston Texans and remains the Packers all-time leading rusher.
