The Lady Magicians are having a rough start to the new year, as they got handed their second defeat for 2020, a 52-50 loss at Miles College 52-50 on Jan. 11.
It was anyone’s game in the first half. Neither team shot well, but LeMoyne-Owen had the better field goal percentage at the half, shooting 33 percent. Amil Mitchelle and Lamontazia Blair had the most points respectively with 16 and 13 for the Magicians.
But it was Sakina Wynn who led the Lady Golden Bears to victory, scoring a game-high 19 points before about 145 fans in attendance. She helped hold off the Lady Magicians, who went 7-14 to close the game, while holding Miles to just 2-6.
Next for the Lady Magicians: A road game in Holly Springs, Mississippi to take on the Rust College Bearcats for another SIAC Conference game. Tipoff is at 5:30 p.m.
