It’s time to get your nominations in for The Tri-State Defender’s annual Best In Black Awards to recognize outstanding Black businesses, community organizations, entrepreneurs and individuals in the Mid-South.
Nominations are now open for various categories, including Best Entrepreneur, Best Restaurant and Best Youth and Mentorship Program. Nominations can be submitted through Sunday, October 12. Voting will take place October 17-26.
The 2025 Best In Black Awards ceremony will be held Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025, 7–9 p.m., at the Central Station Hotel, 545 S Main St., Memphis, TN 38103.
“We’re excited to host the Best In Black Awards to celebrate Black excellence in our community,” said TSD Editor Stephanie Jones. “The mission of Best In Black is to celebrate Black-owned and operated businesses. We look forward to recognizing and amplifying our honorees.”

Tickets are now on sale to attend the Best In Black Awards for $82.31 (including taxes and fees).
